Loch Lomond Whiskies sponsorship of The Open has been shortlisted for two categories at the UK Sponsorship Awards, including 'Sports Sponsorship' and 'First Time Sponsor'.
The first year of the five year partnership with R&A saw Loch Lomond Whiskies’ welcome more than 7,000 visitors to the Loch Lomond Whiskies bar, with more than 12,000 on-course samples distributed to golf fans at Carnoustie.
Away from the course, ambassador deals were agreed with golfing icons Colin Montgomerie and Paul Lawrie and promotions took place with golf databases, media partners and Global Travel Retail at Heathrow Airport.
The ‘Sports Sponsorship’ award sees Loch Lomond Whiskies go up against DHL (DHL United. Delivered), Rubicon (Rubicon Urban Crictionary), Hilton Hotels (Official Partner of The European Tour), Muller (Muller Sponsor British Athletics & Athletics to get the Nation Active) and Evian (Evian Wimbledon 2018).
Other nominated 'First Time Sponsors' include UBTECH (UBTECH: City in the Community: City Stars ICT Programme), Rovio (Rovio & Everton Football Club), Sun Bingo (How Sun Bingo became part of The Jeremy Kyle Show’s DNA) and All Out Beauty (All Out Beauty at AEG Presents All Points East).
The awards will take place on 26th March at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square, where BBC broadcaster Jonny Dymond will be hosting the evening.
